RELEA_Aviate is a surface-finished material for aviation and mobility applications. RELEA achieves a CO₂ footprint of just around 1 kg CO₂e/m² and a fiber content of up to 85%. RELEA stores CO2 by using emission-intensive genuine leather in the second material loop. Genuine leather residues are thus prevented from being recycled and further CO2 emissions are avoided.
Compared to many surface materials from primary resources, the production of RELEA is significantly less CO₂-intensive and reduces emissions to the technically necessary minimum.
The homogeneous roll material enables precise industrial processing with very little waste. For processors, this means high material yield, predictable cuts and fewer process-related emissions.
Processors thus benefit from a material that sustainability goals supports without creating additional complexity or restrictions in existing production processes.

Genuine leather – granules and fibers
RELEA is based on genuine leather scraps. Our materials consist of up to 75% genuine leather and are certified according to the OEKO-TEX® Leather Standard.
The resulting leather scraps are processed into granules and fibers and then further processed.
Formulation
Similar to the paper industry, RELEA uses binders to hold leather fibers together. This innovative formulation makes it possible to create desired material properties.
Refinement
Known for decades in the automotive and fashion industries, decorative surface finishes set standards of the highest quality using state-of-the-art technology. Durable, pleasant to the touch, and visually appealing, RELEA offers a wide range of color and texture options.
Fats and Waxes
Beeswax is part of the RELEA formulas. It conditions genuine leather products, including RELEA, from the inside out. Together with other fats and waxes, it supports the flexibility and suppleness typical of genuine leather.
Pigments
Pigments allow RELEA to be customized with different colors. Natural color pigments are added to RELEA according to customer specifications and for specific applications, creating a unique aesthetic.
